Frequently Asked Questions
How old do you have to be to play?
Our rooms are designed for ages 10 and up. We do ask that anyone under the age of 14 be accompanied by an adult at a 1 to 1 ratio. For example if you have 3 children, 2 who are under 10, and 1 who is 14, we suggest they play with a minimum of 2 adults. Minors can play without an adult in the room but an adult must stay on the premises if there is no one over the age of 18 playing. All guests under 18 must have a Waiver signed by a parent in order to play.
Can my group play a private game?
Zoya Escape Rooms does not charge extra for a private game, simply select a room showing 8 available slots, and mark the game as private while booking. Times with less than 8 available have bookings already where the participants did not select the free private game option.
Can my group Walk-In and play last minute?
We do suggest that you book at least 24 hours in advance to assure that the day and time your group wants is available. Please use our “Booking’ tab located at the top of the page. Short Notice/Same Day/Walk-Ins are subject to availability, but most days/times are possible. It is best to call (269) 281-4867 before you drive out to visit us.
What if we all want to pay separate?
Book a game and don’t make it private, then make sure additional players book the same time. We can’t control if others you do not know join in during this process. After everyone has booked, give us a call to mark it private if you want. If you want to make sure its just your group, and want to pay separate, call us to arrange it.
What if I want to play the game by myself?
We do not recommend this. However we won’t stop you from trying.
How many players should we have?
We have had successful groups as small as 2, and made some special arrangements for groups over 8. We find it best if your group consists of 4 to 6 participants, and highly encourage groups to select private games. While large groups can sometimes be fun if they work together we have found escape rooms in general are better with a team of 4 to 6.
Are cell-phones allowed?
Cell phones are not allowed in the rooms.
Are we actually locked in the room?
At Zoya Escape Rooms you are not actually locked in the room and are welcome to leave at any time for emergencies, but leaving the room will prompt an alarm and a loss of the game, accommodations made on a case by case basis.
What do I need to know to play?
You do not need any special knowledge or skills to participate.
How much does a room cost?
Prices start at $30 a person.
When should I arrive?
Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your start time. If you are late, you will have less time to complete the adventure. The timer begins counting down at your start time.
Can I reschedule?
Rescheduling is an option and should be done 48 hours before your booked time.
Is the escape room scary?
Our Escape Rooms are not designed to frighten or scare the participants. If we make a game that has frightening components, you will be warned before booking.
Can I try again if I fail?
You should see the entire game in one visit, you will see all the steps, and should never need to repay to see all the components of the game. All of our players win or lose generally see over 90% of the game before the time is up.
Do I have to book the whole room?
You do not have to book the whole room, though if you do not book the entire room there is a possibility that you will end up playing with strangers. If you do not want to play with people you do not know, then you will need to mark the game as private while booking. There is no additional charge to make a room private.
What happens if we get stuck?
You are able to request hints throughout the course of the game; we assist players in finding what they are missing, rather than allow them to get frustrated.
